Jr High Wrestling consists of 7th, 8th, and 9th graders. It is a sport where you compete individually, and also as a team. There is no need to "try out" for the team, everyone that joins is a part of it. All wrestlers need to have a physical prior to practicing, as well as have a weight certification and hydration test completed. By doing so, wrestlers are only allowed to lose a certain amount of weight per week, and can not go lower than there certified weight, if they choose to lose weight. PIAA started this last year in order to ensure the safety of all wrestlers. Practice starts mid November.
