Guidance
The Guidance Department provides a program, which supports and fosters the developmental concerns of students as well as their immediate needs or problems. Counselors are prepared to assist students in considerations and decisions regarding their academic, social, career and personal lives. Students and parents are encouraged to schedule appointments with counselors at any time to discuss their questions and concerns. The Guidance Department may specifically assist a student in the following ways:

§Planning of appropriate courses to meet graduation requirements and future goals.

Carol J. Cleary

Mrs. Carol J. Cleary, MS, NCC, LPC has been a School Counselor in the SASD since 1995. She has worked in the former middle school, the high school and has been at the junior high school since it opened in 1999. She received both her Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and her Masters degree in School Counseling from Marywood University. She is a National Board Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor. She is married and has three sons.

Eric Stinson

Mr. Eric Stinson has been a counselor at the Junior High School since 2004. He attended DeSales University where he earned undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Social Work in 2000. In 2004, he graduated from Lehigh University with a Masters Degree in Secondary School Counseling. His previous work experiences include being a counselor at Kidspeace and a county MH/MR supports coordinator.

Sarah Pardue

Mrs. Sarah Pardue has been at Stroudsburg Junior High School since the fall of 2007. She has earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University and a Masters in Secondary School Counseling from the University of Scranton.

Ms. Sabrina D. Mangroo, M.S. CSP

Ms. Mangroo has been working in the Stroudsburg Area School District since 2002. Prior to that, she attended school at Marywood University where she received a Masters Degree in Psychology/Child Psychology and certification in School Psychology. Ms. Mangroo spends her time conducting assessments for students who are demonstrating difficulties within the classroom. These difficulties range from problems in the Language Arts and Math areas to difficulties with behavior or emotional concerns. She also assesses students for the Gifted program.
