Future Business Leaders of America

FBLA is the largest student business organization in the world, with over 250,000 members. Membership is open to all students, regardless of whether they are taking business courses. The Stroudsburg FBLA continually has over 150 members from 9th-12th grades. They meet every two-week on Wednesday afternoons in the high school cafeteria starting in late September. The club provides members with numerous leadership development opportunities, the ability to take part in community service activities, the chance to learn more about possible careers in the business world, and the possibility of earning special recognition through competitive events. A state charity is chosen every year. They travel to Kalahari for a State Leadership Workshops in the fall and to another major city in the east for a National Fall Leadership Conference. Regional and State Competitions, in December and April, give students a chance to compete against students from other school districts. For more information about the state association, visit FBLA's website at www.pafbla.org or contact one of the advisors: Mrs. Kathy Sickler (ksickle@sburg.org) or Mrs. Jodie Haggerty (jhaggert@sburg.org)
