Student Assistance Program (SAP)

The Student Assistance Program seeks to help students who are encountering barriers to academic success and personal growth.  The Student Assistance Team may consist of teachers, counselors, nurses, administrators, and outside consultants that meet weekly to determine how to best meet individual student needs.  A student can be referred to SAP by a staff member or parent.  The team collects academic and behavioral data on a referred student and then decides the best course of action on how to intervene.  When necessary, an intervention is scheduled with the student and his or her parents/guardians to develop a comprehensive plan on how to best meet a student’s needs.  At times, the SAP Team will refer parents/guardians to outside agencies and service providers who specify in an area of concern.
