Emotional Support

Emotional Support courses in Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and English are available for exceptional students in grades 8 and 9 whose behavior significantly interferes with their academic performance in regular education classes. All Emotional Support Classes are full year courses which parallel the general education curriculum by topic. Pacing, class size, degree of exploration, use of alternate instructional materials, and varied student performance outcomes differentiate Emotional Support courses from regular education courses. Additionally, Emotional Support Classes provide a high degree of structure ,supervision and a behavior management component that is designed to positively reinforce and reward more appropriate and acceptable behaviors.
